RSA Cosmos successfully renovated Incheon 15m planetarium with a 6k projection system

With our long-term South Korean partner Metaspace, we renovated the planetarium of Incheon Student Science Museum, located in the 2nd largest city in South Korea

We installed a powerful 2D hybrid system using 6x Sony GTZ380 projectors, boasting an impressive native contrast ratio of 16,000:1 and a luminosity of 10,000 lumens. The installation is powered by SkyExplorer and synchronized with a Megastar IIB. This advanced technology delivers not only unparalleled clarity and sharpness but also deep blacks and vibrant colours, enhancing the overall immersive experience for visitors.

Furthermore, the inclusion of the JL Cooper Eclipse Console enhances the control and precision of the presentations.

The planetarium opened its doors to the public in December 2023, marking the beginning of a new era in science education and exploration in Incheon.

“Working with the RSA Cosmos was not only a pleasure but also an opportunity to learn about the highest technology available in the market. This was especially evident during our involvement in a complex hybrid project, where achieving a perfectly synchronized digital and optical representation of a beautiful starry sky would not have been possible without the most advanced software – SkyExplorer from RSA Cosmos.” says Metaspace spokesperson.

As the world continues to marvel at the mysteries of the cosmos, the renovated planetarium in Incheon stands as a beacon of discovery and enlightenment.

Many thanks to Metaspace and Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education Science & Information Institute for this exciting project!
