This ambitious project aimed to design a next-generation environment, combining technological performance, public comfort, and educational versatility.

As part of this major project, the entire hall was rebuilt to offer an unparalleled level of comfort and performance. The core of the installation rests on an 18-meter dome, tilted at 24.5°, which allows for total immersion in the cosmos by offering a projection surface of over 710 m². This configuration positions the planetarium as the highest resolution in Europe and one of the brightest on the continent. The Astro-tec Ulteria Seam Technology screen guarantees perfect visual continuity, fully contributing to the total immersion of spectators. Combined with 12 Sony GTZ-380 projectors, the projection achieves a Real 10K resolution, offering exceptional contrast, with unbeatable deep blacks and very high brightness.

The planetarium is also equipped with a 9.1.4 spatial audio system, the management of which is fully integrated into SkyExplorer, guaranteeing perfect synchronization between image, sound spatialization, and narration. This setup offers immersive sound, plunging spectators into the heart of each show. The hall’s stage lighting relies on a fully programmable LED cove, allowing great freedom in creating ambiances adapted to each program.

RSA Cosmos has integrated the entire SkyExplorer 2026 suite, offering users a complete environment for disseminating and creating scientific content.
This software integration ensures great operational flexibility, both for educational programs and for productions intended for the general public.
The project integrates specialized devices for the hearing-impaired, with the distribution of content with subtitles via augmented reality glasses, strengthening the accessibility of the scientific programs offered to the public. The Heureka planetarium is thus positioning itself as one of the most beautiful planetariums in Europe, but also one of the most technologically advanced, much to the delight of its 300,000 visitors per year.

”Planetarium is a quintessential component of a memorable Heureka experience. We are pleased to relaunch a thoroughly renovated facility which offers remarkably improved immersion for our audiences. We are grateful for the smooth collaboration with the dedicated professionals to achieve the stellar result.” – Mikko Myllykoski, CEO at Heureka
“I’ve been very pleased with the level of ambition that RSA Cosmos has brought into this big milestone in the Science Centre’s history. The attention to detail in all aspects, including synergy between the RSA Cosmos ecosystem and our other equipment is unmatched. We are super excited going forward into developing our visitor experience even further.” – Lauri Hynninen, Project Manager at Heureka
“I am delighted to have been able to support the Heureka team in this long-term project. We worked together for several years to see this planetarium reborn. It is always a pleasure and a great source of pride for RSA Cosmos to put all its expertise into an ambitious project like this and within such important and recognized institutions in Europe.” Bahar Gumus, Senior Sales Manager at RSA Cosmos
