This 20-meter-diameter LED dome, featuring 8K resolution, was delivered in a record time of just 7 months, including both manufacturing and installation. Designed to provide outstanding image quality, high contrast, and perfect uniformity across the entire dome surface, the system positions Suzhou among the most technologically advanced planetarium facilities in the world.
A record‑time installation
The installation was carried out in close collaboration with our local partner Merak Cosmos, who not only contributed to the technical implementation but also developed the first educational sequences for live planetarium sessions using SkyExplorer and FreeDome.
Thanks to algorithms specifically developed for LED dome technology, the images from SkyExplorer and FreeDome are absolutely extraordinary, delivering an immersive experience unlike anything seen on traditional projection systems.
This new planetarium will offer visitors a next-generation immersive experience, combining cutting-edge technology with educational excellence.

Using this system to live-stream a total lunar eclipse is equivalent to equipping every visitor with a super telescope, allowing them to travel freely through space.
