A spectacular 8K 3D Interactive planetarium is on its way in a 10m dome in Poland!

On Wednesday 8th of September 2021, the contract for the equipment of the 10m planetarium of the future Maritime Science Center “Morskie Centrum Nauki” was officially signed !
We are delighted the RSA Cosmos – AB-Micro Partnership has been selected to install a high-performing turnkey solution in the 10m dome of this fascinating architectural complex which will open at the end of 2022.

In the 10m dome of the planetarium, we will bring together advanced technologies along with all the equipment, to offer memorable and unique immersive experiences: a powerful 8K 3D system using 5 x 4K Sony GTZ280 projectors, the latest version of our software SkyExplorer, an Astro-Tec Dome Screen, and great seats integrating our unequalled interactive technology, the Audience Response System.

Visitors will live a fascinating experience throughout in the Morskie Centrum Nauki!

The architecture of the Maritime Science Center and its planetarium are incredible: a ball-shaped planetarium suspended inside the impressive ship-shaped building.

The 8K 3D system using 5 x 4K Sony GTZ280 projectors we will install, along with an Astro-Tec screen, will totally immerse the audience. They will have the feeling they are travelling through the Universe and stepping into the scientific educational modules we offer in SkyExplorer STEAM.

By combining our advanced technologies with Astro-Tec & Sony’s, we will be able to deliver the most stunning realistic images in real time with the greatest levels of quality and rendering.

We will also install seats integrating our unequalled interactive technology, the Audience Response system. This great technology will offer highly dynamic planetarium sessions and bring great interaction between users & the audience, since each armrest is equipped with one control panel allowing the audience to participate to quiz, select scenarios, & take direct control of the movement of the camera in the simulation.

Witold Jabłoński, director of the Morskie Centrum Nauki says “our planetarium will be the only facility of this type in Poland with a voting system mounted in seats. Thanks to this, we will increase the interactivity and modernity and it will be a unique planetarium in Poland”.

We are thrilled to have been selected for yet another great project in Poland! We would like to thank our long-term partner AB-Micro and the team of the Morskie Centrum Nauki for this wonderful project!
