Delivered in close collaboration with long-standing local partner AB-Micro, this project adds to the seven planetariums the company has upgraded in the country over the past six years. RSA Cosmos is proud to support and contribute to the growing planetarium community in Poland, helping to bring immersive science and astronomy experiences to audiences of all ages.
Integrated at the heart of the Kepler Science Center, Planetarium Wenus plays a central role in makin g astronomy and science accessible to a wide audience. The renovation was designed to enable the planetarium to deliver a projection quality and a visitor experience in line with today’s standards, while adapting to a truly unique and unconventional configuration.
Planetarium Wenus stands out thanks to its movable dome, a rare and innovative feature that allows the dome to go up and down depending on the configuration of the room. This flexibility enables the space to seamlessly transform between a conference configuration and a full planetarium setup, supporting both 2D and 3D experiences.
The renovated planetarium is now equipped with a real 4K projection system powered by two Sony GTZ-380 projectors, delivering sharp, highly detailed images with exceptional contrast and high brightness, ensuring faithful rendering of astronomical content. This major visual upgrade is completed by a modernized audio system, enhancing spatial immersion and narrative impact for all planetarium experiences. To finalize the transformation of the space, a new cove lighting system was installed to create the great atmosphere adapted to the type of show.
At the heart of the new system lies the SkyExplorer software suite, including SkyExplorer and FreeDome. Renowned worldwide for its scientific accuracy and unmatched astronomical simulation capabilities, SkyExplorer is the most powerful astronomical software available today. It enables live presentations and interactive experiences, while FreeDome extends these possibilities to STEAM-oriented educational programs, covering all scales of the universe.
By integrating SkyExplorer and FreeDome, Planetarium Wenus now benefits from a powerful, future-proof software ecosystem, offering endless possibilities for content creation and educational storytelling, both in 2D and 3D.

This project reflects a long-term collaboration between RSA Cosmos, AB-Micro, and the team at Centrum Nauki Keplera. Working closely together over time made it possible to define a solution precisely aligned with the planetarium’s technical needs, educational goals, and operational realities.
Beyond the successful completion of the renovation, this partnership ensures ongoing support and the ability to evolve the planetarium experience in the years to come, keeping Planetarium Wenus at the forefront of immersive science education in Poland.
