The Aragón Planetarium, located in the Walqa Technology Park in Huesca, strengthens its long-standing partnership with RSA Cosmos thanks to a complete renovation carried out by the world leader in planetarium solutions. Only four months after the tender was signed, the dome has been transformed to offer a unique astronomical and cultural experience.
The new system relies on two Sony GTZ 380 projectors, providing the planetarium with 4K resolution and guaranteeing unmatched brightness, precision, and contrast. These visual performances place the Aragón Planetarium among the most modern immersive installations in Europe.
On the audio side, the upgrade from a 5.1 system to a 7.1 system, with the integration of additional speakers in the dome, now offers visitors total immersion, where image and sound merge to recreate the universe with striking realism.
At the heart of this new setup is the SkyExplorer software, the global benchmark in astronomical simulation. It allows audiences to travel through space in real time, explore the sky from any point in the universe, and access interactive educational content tailored to all types of visitors. The planetarium notably welcomes many school groups every year, who will now benefit from the best technologies to learn more about astronomy. This modernization makes space science education easier while captivating audiences with highly realistic renderings.
The technical installation was completed in just ten days, followed by in-depth training for the on-site teams. This support, essential to RSA Cosmos’ approach, ensures smooth and independent handling of the tools by the Aragón Planetarium staff, particularly SkyExplorer. This close relationship maximizes the educational and scientific impact of each project.
“We are very happy with the way RSA Cosmos managed everything. The projector quality is spectacular, the installation was extremely fast, and the team is amazing,” commented Teruca MORENO, Director of the planetarium.
This modernization demonstrates RSA Cosmos’ ability to meet clients’ expectations while blending seamlessly into existing environments. With recognized expertise and a perfect adaptation to renovation constraints, RSA Cosmos supports planetariums worldwide in their transformation, ensuring next-generation immersive experiences.
With this project, the Aragón Planetarium strengthens its educational and cultural role by offering young audiences an exceptional astronomical experience, while reaffirming RSA Cosmos as a trusted partner for planetariums across Europe and around the globe.
