June 10th, 2003, from Cape Canaveral launching site, the geologist robot Spirit flies in the sky of Florida towards planet Mars.
It is followed on July 8 by its twin Opportunity.
7 months later, a fantastic adventure starts for the two robot geologists which explore the past of the planet Mars
Designed for 3 months operation and to cross 600 meters, both rovers, located in two different places of the red planet, has worked today for almost 3 years and crossed 10km each !
Overview
"Mars Mission" is a fulldome computer generated documentary. This show explains that the exploration of the solar system is today done by robots with specific functions.
The only extraterrestrial body where the human kind was himself is the Moon. All the other collected data, images and measurements building our current knowledge, have been obtained via automated robots.
