With the SN88, project your public into the heart of the universe.

Description

The SN88 is RSA Cosmos's top range of projection equipment. It has been designed for horizontal or tilted domes with a diameter of 10 to 22m. It offers simulation features and an incomparable representation of the sky.

Star projection sphere

Consisting of two hemispheres with a diameter of 400 to 1000mm, the SN88 projects 2500 to 6000 individual stars, observing their magnitude, the colour indicating their temperatures and their relative positions as well as the Milky Way, 10 Messier objects, Magellan's major and minor clouds, the ecliptic, the equator and the constellations of the zodiac, additional constellations and the cardinal points.

Motor-driven along 3 axes, the SN88 allows all simulations as observed from the surface of any heavenly body of the solar system: diurnal motion, motion in longitude and latitude, annual motions, precession motion, etc...

Solar system torches

8 individual projection systems fitted with an optical system for projection of the planets as seen by the naked eye and zoomed, the sun and the moon in its various phases defined automatically according to the date of simulation. One system is fitted with a laser pointer.

This system can also be used for obtaining special effects like heliocentric motion, a shower of meteorites, the specific movement of the main stars of a constellation, the marking of an area of the sky, the system of Jupiter, etc...

Lifting device

The SN88 is fitted with a lifting device to completely remove the screen simulator and to allow all-sky projection of slides or video as well as to be able to simulate specific astronomic movements such as the midnight sun (as seen from the poles).

Motorization

The motorization of the star and torch projection sphere allows very quick positioning at any simulation date.

Overall dimensions

By their "star ball" design, our optomechanical planetarium systems have small overall dimensions to minimise visual disturbance to the public as well as concealment of images from the video or slide projectors.

Control of all the audio-visual equipment

The SN88 is controlled by the DomeManager software. This supervisory software controls all the RSA Cosmos planetarium systems (whether optomechanical or digital) as well as all the audio-visual equipment integrated in the planetarium.
