CRT projection is today the solution selected by most planetariums across the world.

The technology used

Based on the I-Dome BARCO technology, the CRT InSpaceSystem uses BR909 or BR909 Split Pack projectors.

Using cathode ray tubes, the BR909 BARCO projectors give excellent adjustments of colour, blending of images (soft-edge) and especially a perfect black.

In the standard configuration 6 projects are used giving a resolution of more than 9 million pixels on the dome after soft-edge and blending.

Depending on the project, other configurations can be proposed increasing the resolution and brightness.

No equipment at the centre

The multiple projector technology allows eliminating all equipment from the centre of the theatre. This allows either:

  • having seats at the best places of the planetarium,
  • for a concentric theatre, to keep the centre free for lecturers or for shows (theatre, concerts, etc.)
