Bring your planetarium in the world of 3D! Different solutions are possible: active stereo, passive / active Infitec, all compatible with any type of dome.
Our SkyExplorer software runs native stereoscopy with a special algorithm developed by RSA Cosmos to obtain a stereoscopic effect at any point of the dome by taking into account the focal point of the scene. From any angle, you can bring an object in the middle of the room!
The principle of this technology is to rotate the display of the left eye and right eye image on the dome. Glasses synchronized on this display frequency use liquid crystals to 'shutter' alternately, the eye that should not see the image projected. These glasses require batteries.
Infitec technology relies on the use of filters inside the glasses that divide the spectrum of colors visible to the naked eye into six narrow strips (two bands of red, green and blue called R1, R2, B1, B2, G1 , G2). Bands R1, G1 and B1 are used for an image of an eye and R2, B2, G2 for the other eye. This technology allows you to generate 3D images with little difference in color between the eyes.
Passive Infitec solution is based on doubling the number of projectors. A set of projectors is equipped with a "right eye" Infitec filter, the other set with a "left eye" filter.
For this solution, it is not necessary to double the number of projectors. A rotary Infitec filter, composed of two filters "right eye" and "left eye" turns in the projector to filter alternately right and left images.
Whether active or passive Infitec, the glasses equipped with filters in front of each eye, do not use electronic neither battery.
